From Ljubljana we will reach Koper in about 1 hour, then Izola and Piran are 20 minutes away. Besides the old towns, we may visit the modern Portoroz tourist resort with Saltpans nature park in the neighborhood. For the lunch, we shall find some local cuisine delicacies in a restaurant by the sea or in a small village with a view. Instead of returning to Ljubljana, you may decide to overnight in one of the many hotels/apartments on the coast. This would make a more comfortable start to the next day when you can visit Trieste Italy with its prime sightseeing locations in the surrounding – the Miramare and Duino castles. On our way back we should visit the Lipica stud farm where famous Lipizzaner horses derive from. Also, we will find a local cuisine restaurant “gostilna” nearby.
